Job offer great software engineer

Mendeley enables scientists to manage, explore, share, and visualize their research. You can help us create the tools for that. We're looking for a great software engineer to join us in Central London. Your task will be to advance the client part of our integrated desktop + web-based research network.

Not only do we have exciting technology and angel/venture capital funding, but we also have a brilliant team including people who've helped to build Last.fm, one of Europe's most successful start-ups. Together we can revolutionize the way students and researchers work, grow the world's largest academic community, and create something truly meaningful.

You should
have a degree in Computer Science or a related field - if not, you can also convince us with outstanding past work
have expert knowledge developing and debugging in C/C++ (knowledge of PHP and SQL a plus)
want to get more experience building large-scale client-server applications
be keen on making the work of researchers and students more efficient, and more fun, by providing them with the latest Web 2.0 technologies

You will
shape Mendeley with your own ideas, enthusiasm and personality
develop a complex system architecture, integrating desktop and web functionality
conceptualize, design and implement front- and backend software components
code using primarily C++ in a Qt Framework
conduct design and code reviews
work in a friendly, easy and very flexible work environment in Central London, with a bright team of young founders and successful entrepreneurs
