Payroll Operations Manager Job in London

1st Contact is an international business with offices located in Cape Town, London and Melbourne.
We are looking to recruit a Payroll Operations Manager for our Payroll Business in our office in Cape Town, this is an excellent opportunity to work with an exciting growing business within 1st Contact. The ideal candidate will possess a background in finance and tax with management experience and be familiar with payroll software. The role is challenging and will demand an individual who has the ability to drive a new growing business with great leadership and motivational skills.
-
-Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Managing a team of 5 Account Managers (this number will increase as the business grows.)
-Responsible for HR duties for team including; staff appraisals, probationary reviews, recruitment and training for new joiners. As well as ensuring the development and training of existing staff.
-Ensuring the payroll function for Umbrella is run effectively and efficiently
-Managing a departmental budget and monthly reporting on Key Performance Indicators
-Working to KPI's & Targets set by divisional director
-Managing system requirements and new projects to enhance the Umbrella Service
-Liaising with colleagues based in International offices in London and Melbourne and ensuring regular effective communication.
-Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with external service providers.
Candidate Specifications
-The successful candidate must have at least 2 -3 years management or team leader experience ideally within a financial environment.
Salary:350,000 R - 370,000 R (dependant on qualifications and experience)
-The following experience will be advantageous:
-Basic knowledge of UK tax and employment law.
-Knowledge of payroll software, eg SAGE, IRIS.
-Furthermore, the successful candidate must:
-Be a strong communicator, and be confident in communicating to staff at all levels
-Have excellent interpersonal skills and display the ability to develop positive working relationships;
-Have excellent organisational and time management skills;
-Have good problem-solving and decision-making skills;
-Contribute towards an energised and dynamic work environment;
-Demonstrate leadership and motivational skills;
