Gas Trader And Gas Risk Management
Reporting to the Head of Risk Management and working closely with the Gas Trader and other team members, you will need to establish and operate the risk control framework for the UK Gas Desk; develop tools to quantify the company's portfolio exposure to gas and the effect of gas trades on the commodity risk position of the business; define IT systems and reporting requirements and support the introduction of the necessary contract arrangements.
A successful applicant will:
* Have significant experience of the UK gas market
* Have a track record in risk management, including development and operation of risk controls and operational procedures
* Have some experience of gas operations
* Be able to develop a new function and work effectively in a cross-functional role
* Be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills
* Be highly self motivated
Person requirements To be successful in this role you will need to establish a UK Gas Desk. You will need to manage a cross functional project working across disciplines to develop the counterparty, contractual and systems infrastructure of the desk. Once the desk is delivered you will be expected to trade UK gas.
