Software Developer Job in London
The following list includes the main duties of the role, but is not exhaustive:
o To develop applications required to meet the needs of the broking desks.
o Any other duties that may reasonably be required
Knowledge & expertise
o Proven track record developing server-side applications in java for financial services industry. Client-side development experience using jsp/javascript/html also required.
o XML and XSL skills essential.
o Experience working in FX Options broking/trading environment, including knowledge of FX Options and preferably other derivatives products.
o Experience in deploying server side applications on Linux o/s.
o Additional experience working with Oracle databases and writing stored procedures in PL/SQL would be a distinct advantage.
Experience, qualifications & other specific requirements
o Relevant degree (e.g. Math, Finance etc.)
o In-depth knowledge of some or all of the following development languages and systems.
o Java
o XSL
o Web Development (Servlets, JSP, JDBC, SSL, DHTML/ JavaScript)
o XML Web Services
o PL/SQL
o Tomcat
o MQ Series
o Apache
Additional Skills / expertise o Because of the volatile nature of the financial industry a high degree of self motivation and problem ownership is required
o Skills and attitude to motivate and support team members
o An attitude that allows an environment to develop where skills and knowledge are freely disseminated to others
