Projects Manager
Summary of role
The Engineering Manager needs to maintain an awareness of the project needs of the Bank and be responsible for ensuring the successful planning, implementation and completion of Engineering capital and revenue (operations) projects that support these needs. The Engineering Manager will ensure that all services are provided to the highest standards required by the Bank and that they are delivered at minimum risk to the Bank's business operations. The role includes being responsible for reviewing engineering systems and initiating capital and revenue projects and maintaining the asset value and operational effectiveness of the Bank's engineering systems such that they support the Bank's operating objectives. The Engineering Manager will ensure that these and the Business's requirement for cost control, service excellence and efficiency to meet business needs are satisfied.
Responsibilities
The Engineering Manager will ensure and be responsible for:
"Managing Business expectations and meeting customer needs
"Providing all engineering services to Banks businesses to satisfy the Business's operations
"Ensuring through Risk Management that risks associated with project delivery of are identified, acknowledged and mitigated.
"Conveying to the Bank's Partners the Business's requirements concerning Risk Management in an operational context) for projects.
"Introduction and continuous development of improved processes and standards definition in conjunction with the FM Quality and Compliance Manager.
"Preparing full technical specifications and contract/tender documentation for improvement projects. For analysing tenders and making recommendations on the appointment of contractors
"Financial planning and control of the investment costs under his/her control
"Managing and preparing repair and replacement programmes with financial details projecting current and long term works
"Ensuring that all the engineering services and other services in connection with projects comply with statutory requirements, meet statutory regulations and support the Banks own standards and codes
"Establishing good relations with statutory bodies and ensuring regular and adequate liaison is carried out
Key Skills and Strengths Required
The Engineering Manager will have a track record that demonstrates:
"An ability to manage and motivate project teams.
"An understanding of the principals of design, installation, commissioning and setting to work of engineering systems, their limitations, capabilities and requirements.
"Risk awareness and ability to understand strategic and tactical issues and how to deploy resources in relation to these.
"Effective in managing demanding situations often when they are required to balance conflicting needs of contractors, users, landlords and others.
"Business management experience in an project context with a cost control and project delivery focus.
"Experience of project delivery through third party vendor relationships and the ability to develop and sustain client and vendor relationships.
"An ability to implement accurate and dynamic reporting processes.
"A logical and pragmatic approach to problems and critical issues.
"A good communicator.
"Experience of preparing and presenting management information, summarising and justifying both the financial and delivery status of business cases and projects at all stages of the project life cycle.
Salary: £55000.00 - £65000.00 per annum
