About us
Igloo web design is a small team based in Hackney who specialise in providing graphic design, web design and web development to a range of clients from restaurant chains to international media companies.
We are very proud of our portfolio and focus on high quality, well designed, highly functional and cutting edge products, whether we are designing logos or writing OOP.
Job description
We are looking for someone to expand the technical side of our business, which will include some of the following: - Working on a range of engaging projects - Web Development (mainly in PHP and MySQL) - Actionscript coding (currently we work with AS2) - Technical maintenance of existing and new clients' sites etc - General online technical work, such as setting up sites and managing DNS - Hackless XHTML and CSS coding - Javascript coding - Potentially some client management and general office duties - Hopefully enjoying working in our team and helping us grow and develop our business!
Obviously no one is an all star web developer, and we do not expect detailed knowledge of all of these areas, however we will be looking for someone who is willing to learn.
What we are looking for - Somebody productive, self motivated and who will thrive in a small team - Expertise in PHP and/or AS2 - Experience managing DNS, servers and email systems - We will also be considering candidates with only a basic knowledge of PHP and AS2 as long as they show potential and a willingness to learn - Experience in the industry - Knowledge of XHTML, CSS and JS is preferred - Good communication skills, including written and spoken English are essential - Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK - Applicants will be required to work on site - Someone who is fun to be with!
Salary
We are expecting people with a range of experience and skills to apply, and the salary will very much depend upon this.
Experienced applicants should expect salaries of GBP20-25k.
Those who will need training GBP16-20k.

These challenges are completely optional, but we hope you have a go at completing one or both of the challenges and will be ready to discuss your approach at the interview.
