The partnership is a structural engineering practice which provides a wide range of design and advisory services to clients from the private and public sectors. As a conscious policy the partners have maintained the size of the firm at a level large enough to undertake major projects yet sufficiently compact for the partners to give a personal service and for the firm to undertake smaller schemes economically. Project schemes range in value from a few thousand pounds to over GBP80m.
The Role
The Accounts Manager will assume responsibility for all bookkeeping and accounting. Using Sage L50, responsibilities will include invoicing and credit control, purchase ledger and payments, expenses, leased cars, cash management and bank reconciliation, VAT and PAYE returns, accounts preparation and auditor liaison, administration of pension scheme and some HR.
The Person
You should be part-qualified or qualified by experience multi-tasker with a 'can-do' attitude. You will receive support direction and guidance regarding systems and procedures from the external accountants. However you must be confident and capable of organising your own work so that you can ensure that all bookkeeping and accounts are up to date. Previous experience in a sole charge role from input to management and year end accounts is essential.
