Valuation Analyst Multi Asset Class Hedge Fund Singapore
The primary investment objective is to achieve attractive returns, while seeking to limit risk, through sophisticated hedging and portfolio management techniques. It has grown to become one of the largest alternative investment firms in the industry, with over $14 billion in investor capital under management and twelve office locations around the world
The Valuations team was established to confirm and oversee the valuations of assets, liquid and illiquid, in the firm. The objectives of the department are to facilitate increased transparency of the pricing process to the investors and to provide a valuation perspective that is independent of portfolio managers.
* On pricing days the Valuation teams prices the book after the trading desk is done pricing using a variety of sources which includes Brokers, Bloomberg, Bridge, External Valuation firms, Models, etc.
* The team is organized based on portfolios and members have flexibility to cover different portfolios over time.
* Members of this team interact on a regular basis with the Firm's various globally based investment teams as part of the pricing function. This will entail exposure to a plethora of investment products and strategies from stocks to complex derivative instruments.
* Provide valuation specific support to Front, Middle and Back Offices.
* Provide valuation related support information to firm's External Auditors.
The successful candidates will have 2-3 years of Valuation experience and an undergraduate degree in Finance, Analytical Finance, Mathematics or related field. You will have good work ethics, good verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work in a time constrained environment, be highly motivated, and open to learning.
You should also have good understanding of Asian markets and an aptitude to understand complex derivatives. Part of responsibilities will include helping trade support group and the trading desk.
The environment and work provides continuous learning on how to value existing and newly developed financial instruments. The team members will benefit from the close interaction with Trading Desk, Marketing, Brokers, Auditors, Risk Department, and Quantitative group which could potentially open a variety of opportunities in the future.
