Community Home Care Workers in London

£8- £10 Per hour.

Wembley, HAO, HA9, Harrow and Brent Areas.

Contract type:
Bank, Part Time and Full Time Hours Available.

Striving for Independence is a care organization based in Wembley, Harrow and Ealing.

We are looking for experienced and qualified community home care workers required to assist and provide domestic and personal support to:

The Elderly;
People with Learning Disabilities and Physical Disabilities;
People who have Mentally Health Issues; and.
People recovering from Serious or Long Term Illness.

The role of the community home care worker is to enable them to remain safe and maintain their individual levels of independence to live independently in their own homes.

This role is demanding yet a highly rewarding position for motivated, outgoing and compassionate people. As a community home care worker, you will be required to respond to the service user's personal and practical needs. This is a varied and diverse role covering a variety of tasks including domestic and personal support.

Qualifications: NVQ level 2 or above, Health and Social Care or equivalent relevant qualification is preferable.

Main duties include:

Personal Support

Assisting service users who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and toileting.
Assisting service users into and out of bed, assisting and transferring service users.
Support with eating and drinking
Prompting/Assisting with medication administration.
Help service users with mobility problems and other physical disabilities such as.
Incontinence, help in the use and care of aids and personal equipment.

Domestic/Practical Support

Make and change beds; tidy rooms and do cleaning.
Cook meals, serve meals; assist care users at meal times if required; wash up utensils.
Take part in meetings and also in training activities as required.

Meal Preparation

Shopping and /or Laundry (not including washing clothes by hand)

Good Written and spoken English required. Language speaking carers are welcome.
