The company
Leading global communications delivery expert requires a Dev Ops Manager to support their established and developing business.
The role
An experienced and motivated Dev Ops Team Leader is required to build a group wide capability to support the live application base and development environments. Based between the Central London and Essex offices you will be required to travel on occasion to other UK sites. The Dev Ops team is responsible for the support of all the operating applications including websites, databases, business support systems, document composition solutions, proprietary factory control system and other strategic business platforms. Management of the Dev Ops team will include task prioritisation, training/mentoring of subordinates and peers, implementation and documentation of processes and procedures as well as ownership, tracking and resolution of all service incidents and requests. You will be involved in troubleshooting, support of live operational environments, active system monitoring, code promotion and deployments and automated SDLC, administration of TFS/Team City and October (or equivalent). In addition you will assist with defining group security policies working with GRC and IT functions.
The requirements
Ideally you will have 10 years + experience in a Dev Ops/Application Support or senior development/systems integrations role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position. You will have experience of MS SQL 2000/2005/2008/2012/2014 RDBMS on large systems, IIS and full Microsoft hosting stack, other database technologies (NoSQL, Mongo Db, Casandra, Hadoop). Possessing experience of MS developer environments and tools (Visual Studio, C#.Net/ASP.NET) as well as Microsoft BI tools - SSIS, SSAS and SSRS, you should have experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO). Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options and experience in implementing operational automation using Scripts (eg Powershell, SQL, Perl) as well as an understanding of SDLC and source control environments MS TFS 2012 + is preferred. Windows server experience including Active Directory and proper disk configurations is expected.
