A BIT ABOUT US
David and Kaz started Grind in 2011, wanting somewhere to hang out when they weren't working - or even when they were - and could get a proper cup of coffee like in Melbourne, Kaz's hometown. Grind now has nine sites across central and east London, each smashing out coffee, cocktails and food day to night, and last year we opened our own roastery and training space in Shoreditch.
Grind has three restaurants and six café-bars across London, including a hidden cocktail bar beneath the streets of Soho and a basement club bar in the heart of Clerkenwell. From intimate cocktail masterclasses, to birthday parties, to book launches, to office Christmas parties – we do it all.
THE ROLE
We’re looking for a motivated and experienced Event Planner to join the HQ team and be responsible for all things events! Working with the brand, operations and finance team, this person will be responsible for effectively responding to all event enquires and converting these into sales, then supporting the sites to operationally manage the events and ensure we are putting our best foot forward at all times.
This role will have a strong focus on working towards budgets, helping to progress the business in each site through weekly and monthly events sales targets. This person will often be the face of the brand, so alongside Razor-sharp organisation skills we want to see your personality and for you to be engaging with customers at any opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Proactively recruit events business into the Grind locations
Respond and convert inbound events leads
Prepare and issue all event briefs, quotes and contracts
Ensure booking systems are kept accurate and up-to-date
A strong focus to achieve budgets and targets
Maintain a good knowledge current pricing and costs to include food, drinks, equipment, staff and other costs as required
Developing new business through direct enquiries and targeted outreach initiatives
Essential Skills:
Previous experience (min 1 year) in an events sales or organisation role in hospitality
A genuine interest in food, coffee, beverages and the London hospitality industry
Outstanding communication skills
Ability to multitask is vital and be able handle working in a fast-paced environment
Seriously high attention to detail whether it is checking the number of 0’s on an invoice to where the glasses are placed on the table
Writing good emails, leaving nice voicemails, filing things where they need to go – all the basics - you need to be able to nail them day in, day out
Able to adapt to late requests and short lead times in a polite and super-efficient manner
The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who can hit the ground running
If this gets you going we would love to hear from you, please email your CV and a cover letter.
We'll see you at the Grind.
