Job Description Job Summary

This is an immediate start position or requires someone at short notice.

We are looking for an ambitious, dedicated, honest, responsible, hardworking and extremely flexible individual to join our team as the Operations Manager.

You will be responsible for scheduling all the projects and making sure appropriate covers are arranged for installation and visits on time. You must have excellent planning and communication skills.

Lazerbeam fire and security is a leader in the security industry. You will be based in our office in South West London and be part of a dedicated and experienced team. You would also be required to work alongside a team on site.

experience in the Security Industry is not essential although is highly desirable and preferred.

Applications will be considered from IT, Logistics or Business Operations graduates too who are looking for a responsible and very hands on role, ensuring customer satisfaction in our delivery of planned and general works.

Responsibilities and Duties

The successful candidate will be required to fulfil the following duties:

The day to day management and monitoring of all site based Supervisors, Staff, resources and equipment allocated to them.
Dealing with late requests for cover from Customers, arranging cover with security engineers, updating Clik Hours and informing the customer of the job details.
The advance scheduling of sites/contracts on Clik, ensuring that all duties are rostered with correctly trained engineers and contractors in accordance with contractual requirements.
To ensure that Clik Hours correctly reflects the contracts and sites to which Company staff is deployed and staff details are correctly entered and maintained on the system.
The preparation and submission of Clik reports and data in line with the customers’ and managements’ requirements.
To ensure that the welfare of all Engineers is maintained through adherence to Company policies and procedures.
To be contactable at all times.
To carry out any other reasonable duties as may be assigned by the Key Accounts Manager and Operations Director.
Assist with the hiring of Engineers as and when needed for larger projects.

As the Operations Manager you will:

Manage staff and subcontractors working on assigned projects within the security industry.
Take responsibility for the health and safety of self and all under your control.
Control project expenditure costs to maximize profitability and productivity.
Attend site meetings and programme planning, promoting companies capability and developing opportunities.
Make decisions both small and large, in such a way that risk is controlled and uncertainty minimized.
Plan the work efficiently to meet agreed deadlines.
Order materials and ensuring that the correct materials are on site when required.
Create and manage effective teams – across functions and projects.
Proactively manage the impact on and protection of the environment.
Be responsible for updating site documentation and adhering to agreed systems and processes.
Liaise with clients, resolving issues and developing new opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills

Successful Applicants will:

Have extensive knowledge of working with databases. Knowledge and experience of Clik is a plus.
experience in a demanding management position dealing with circa 50 employees per day.
Have excellent communication, delegation and planning skills.
Have a solid understanding of the security industry and the importance of client care and customer service.
Have the right to work in the UK
Be computer literate
Be able to take initiative to make decisions independently.
Be trustworthy, reliable, responsible and flexible.
Have a fully screen-able 5 year history

Ideally seeking an Operations Manager with:

Mechanical and/or Electrical experience in the security industry.
Project Management experience
Mechanical and /or Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent is desirable although not essential.
