The job role of Restaurant Manager:
The Restaurant Manager assists in coordinating with the General Manager all Front of House operations at Duck and Waffle. This position supervises daily restaurant operations, maintains sanitation standards, and assists the FOH staff on the floor providing exemplary hospitality. The position assists the General Manager making sure guests and employee satisfaction is achieved while maintaining the operating budget.
The Restaurant Manager will be involved in training the FOH staff to reflect the restaurant’s excellence of service.

Job duties of a Restaurant Manager:
·         Opens and closes restaurant shifts and ensures completion of assigned shift checklist and other duties.
·         Meets and greets guests and sets an exemplary example of guest service.
·         Handles all guest complaints and ensures the guest is delighted with the overall samba experience.
·         Assists servers and hosts on the floor with guests during meal periods and high demand times.
·         Assist with developing new menus and programs daily menu specials and changes in the point of sale system.
·         Ensures staff understands liquor laws; monitors alcohol beverage service in compliance with local legislation.
·         Assists with the handling and service of all bookings of restaurant parties.
·         Conducts pre-meal briefings (line-ups) with the Chef and General Manager to educate restaurant staff on menu items including ingredients, preparation methods and unique tastes.
·         Communicates areas in need of attention to staff and follows up to ensure follow through and attention to detail.
·         Creates and implements training programs.
·         Proactively maximizes sales and generates revenue.
·         Maintains food handling and sanitation standards.
·         Communicates performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position and monitors progress.
·         Participates in the employee performance appraisal process, giving feedback as needed.
·         Coaches employees regarding performance on an on-going basis. Handles employee progressive disciplinary procedures as required.
·         Handles employee questions and concerns.
·         Comprehends budgets, operating statements and payroll progress reports as needed to assist in the financial management of department.
·         Effectively schedule to business demands and for tracking of employee time and attendance. Manages payroll administration.

Required experience for Restaurant Manager:
·         Bachelor’s Degree desirable
·         Knowledge and experience within the food and nightlife industry.
·         Requires at least 4 years of Food and Beverage experience in a related field, with at least 4 year in a Managerial role.
·         Personal License Holder
·         Effective decision making and problem-solving skills.
·         Strong knowledge of Human Resources policies and UK Employment laws.
·         Ability to work long and flexible hours.
·         Certifications as required to comply with government regulations and health codes, i.e, food safety and alcohol awareness, alcohol certification, etc.
·         Strong understanding of financial concepts and Profit and Loss analysis (P and L)
