Three Cs has a unique opportunity available to recruit for full and part time Support Worker vacancies in Lewisham, Southwark, Newham and Redbridge.   We are offering a salary of £18, 343 per annum for full time workers (pro rata for part time).
Three Cs stands for 'Control and Choice in the Community' for people with learning disabilities and/or mental health challenges. We support people to have control over and choice about their lives and to contribute to the community as equal citizens.
How would you like to do a job that changes lives?  Being a Support Worker at Three Cs means you will be supporting people with learning disabilities and/or mental health challenges to become more independent, to be more confident about making decisions, to be more involved in their communities and to have greater expectations about the sort of things that most of us take for granted in our everyday lives, such as finding a job, making friends and having a relationship.
What are the responsibilities of the Support Worker?
We are looking for full and part time individuals for our Supported Living services.   For some vacancies we are looking for staff who can drive the cars of some of the people we support.  
A person-centred approach to working is essential – and you must be willing to work flexible hours to meet the demands of the services.  This will include evenings, weekends, early mornings, late nights, sleeping-ins and bank holidays and supporting people to go on holiday as required.
The role is challenging and you will work hard, but you’ll also have great job satisfaction, a sense of achievement, opportunities to learn new skills and the knowledge that your support really can change lives.
What skills do I need to have to become a Support Worker?
- A willingness to learn about people with learning disability or  mental health challenges, preferably with a QCF (or NVQ)  Level-3  or willing to undertake this
- A driving licence is desirable (no vehicle necessary)
- Work flexible shifts, including night cover, early morning, evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- Numerate and literate in order to handle money and medication.
Knowledge of:
- Supporting people with complex and challenging needs and mental health problems in a way which shows respect and increases their choices, skills and independence
- Contributing effectively in person centred planning, care programme approach and other review meetings as appropriate
- Minimum of 1 year experience of working with people with learning difficulties and mental health needs in paid or voluntary capacity OR demonstrates transferrable skills
- Eligibility to work in the UK. 
- Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, health clearance and satisfactory professional references
