Warm Welcoming Family Seek Live in Aupair

Posted: 33 days ago
Place: Chiswick, London

Aupair needed from September 1st 2022. Kind, warm, easy going family of 4 (plus gorgeous young dog) searching for a fun, adaptable, intelligent au pair to come and live with us.
Monica (Mum) is a senior executive in a consulting firm and works locally in Hammersmith; Dee (Dad) is a management consultant and works in Central London (though is currently taking a 3 month sabbatical); Kiera (13) is at senior school and is more or less independent and really only needs a friend/mentor; Aaryan (9) who goes to school locally and would need the most support alongside Hugo (energetic family dog).
Both children are typical of their age group, and love nothing better than to hang out with friends or family at home, outdoors activities, creative indoor activities and play on their electronics (of course!).
We have a lot of experience with childcare as we have had Au pairs for the last 11 years. Their experiences have been great and some of them even extended their stay with us. We keep in touch with a few of them. Happy to connect you with them.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about children (and loves dogs!), can adapt to a structured term time routine, be flexible in the holidays whilst maintaining a healthy routine that allows them tore-energise; someone who enjoys an active lifestyle be it outdoors activities or sports; and is happy to cook simple, healthy family meals (Monica cooks and freezes too as much as she can over the weekends). You must be warm, patient and love a chaotic noisy family life! We eat evening meals together and every au pair has felt part of the family – we would expect our au pair to eat with us too during the week and if she is home at the weekend.
General responsibilities include taking care of the children and dog and light housework. We have a cleaner who comes once a week and of course, as a family, we do chores around the house. The routine would be:
• Taking Aaryan to and from school and after school activities (Karate)
• Supervising him with his homework (so good spoken and written English is important)
• Walking the dog according to his routine (which fits around school runs)
Monday to Fridays working hours during school term time:
• Mornings: 7.30 am – 9.30am (walking Aaryan to school, taking Hugo with you and to the dog play park following the school run, clearing up breakfast dishes/empty bins etc to ensure kitchen is clean
• Afternoons: 2pm – 6.30pm Monday to Thursday, Friday you will finish at 5.30. (Taking the dog with you to the dogt park prior to the school run, once home give Aaryan a light snack and supervise homework, prepare the evening meal).
• 2 evenings of babysitting per week
School holidays will require more time, though during the longer holidays they generally have sports camps or may visit family or indeed we will take our family holidays then. You need to be prepared for some longer days.
It is crucial that the applicant is, cheerful, reliable, and adaptable and loves spending time with children and dogs.
This role would suit someone who has previous au pair experience, thrives in a busy family household in a bustling capital city. You must be willing to stay for a minimum of 12 months. We would require you to look after our dog when we go on holiday.
Pay will be competitive and you will get 5 weeks of holiday, room and all meals, a lovely bedroom at the top of the house with your own bathroom. We live in a leafy part of West London with tube access to central London. Some of our au pairs have done extra babysitting, taken private tutoring or taken language classes alongside helping us.
If we sound like a family you would like to work with please send your CV and an email outlining what you found interesting about our family and how you would approach this role.
Kind regards,
Monica.
